I have been wanting to go to Nobu Chicago since its opening last year. I finally got the chance a few weeks ago where my friend and I got to celebrate our same-day belated birthdays in Nobu dining style.

Nobu welcomes you with sophistication and smiles to its restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel in the West Loop. No sooner seated, our waiter, Captain as he is called at Nobu, was at our table delighting us with menu items. It’s weird when I think back that we didn’t even look at a menu. We both had favorites we wanted from previous dining experiences at other Nobu locations with mine being, what I believe to the best dish of the night, the Yellowtail Jalapeño Sashimi.

This dish has never disappointed me and in fact, just seems to taste better and better each time I try it. The yellowtail is so beautifully presented, you are at first hesitant to take a bite. That lasts about 2 seconds and then you pick up the first piece and are immediately in taste heaven with the mastery of combined flavors that hit your mouth. Delicate yellowtail, a crunch of garlic, mild citrus, and a bite of heat – perfect. A little pricier and worth every birthday celebration bite and of course Fab Dish Friday.

Cant wait to go back and dine on their rooftop.
