About this Recipe

Who cares that it is not summer?  I don’t and that is why I think this fabulous white sangria recipe is great any time of the year, especially this one!

Ingredients

  • 5oz fresh strawberries

  • 1 green apple (granny smiths are best)

  • 1 lemon

  • 5oz white rum (such as Bacardi)

  • 1 bottle white wine (I used about a $10 sauvignon blanc)

  • 1 cup of apple juice

  • 5oz sliced frozen peaches (I use these instead of ice)

  • 3-4 sprigs of fresh mint

  • *If you like your sangria a little sweeter, you can add a tablespoon of sug

A few weeks ago I had two of my (covid bubble) friends over for dinner and went a little over the top with a tapas platter, seafood paella and made from scratch, with the help of my friend Deb (pictured above), a fantastic White Sangria made with Bacardi Rum. Far too much food and drink for three but we made good work of the entire dinner including the sangria.

For drinks like Sangria, it can be a free for all with fruit after measuring out the alcohol.  If you like more apples, add them, if you don’t like peaches, don’t bother. Throw in what you want and omit what you don’t  – easy peasy sangria squeezy.

Step by Step Instructions

Make sure you are prepping well in advance so your sangria has a solid 2+ hours to rest.

Chop and slice the fresh fruit and add it to a large jug.

Add the sliced frozen peaches.

Pour in the rum, apple juice and white wine.

Stir well, add mint and refrigerate for at least 2 yours.

Add more ice cubes, if desired, pour mixture into glasses and garnish with a slice of fruit.

More photos from my over the top dinner for three!  I can honesty say I loved every minute of setting the table, cooking the dinner, eating and playing games.
