Louis Jadot Chardonnay 2012
Don’t you just love it when people buy you wine as a Thank You gift! For me, it means the gift giver knows me so well and buys a gift that I will treasure… at least until the end of the bottle. I received this gift from a colleague, thank you John!
I have enjoyed many wines from Maison Louis Jadot but as of the other night, I had not enjoyed any of their Chardonnays.
Looking at the label you would think this is a very serious slightly and stuffy wine. A surprise with this Chardonnay is that it is incredibly clean, forward-looking and really fun to drink.
The Louis Jadot Chardonnay 2012 is rich in aromas of honeydew melon and has the charms of a warm and buttery Chardonnay. Don’t be fooled, while this wine does have characteristics of the classic Chardonnay, it is deliciously vibrant and smooth making it a very easy and drinkable wine with tastes of dry apricots, creamy pear and honey giving it a really modern rather than old world French taste. I will be buying more!
This wine will pair beautifully with flaky white such as Baked Cod.
