I stayed in for a change – what’s up with that? It seems I never stay in these days. I buy food, it goes bad, I throw it out, I buy more food, it goes bad and I throw it out and I feel guilty about it, but it doesn’t stop me going out… all the time! I needed a night in. I actually need about a month’s worth of nights in, but that’s another story altogether.
Not sure what to do with myself on a night in so I looked at my On Demand and decided to catch up with some of my Men of USA (the TV Channel) and open a bottle of Frog’s Leap Sauvignon Blanc and a can of Chicken Noodle Soup. I know so bad right? I had no other food in my house worthy of cooking so soup it had to be.
The Frog’s Leap Sauv is a soft honeydew melon in color. On the nose it is crisp, clean and sharp with an immediate aroma of grapefruit. The mineral notes are light on the palate and it does have a hint of a steely flavor. As you continue to drink the wine it becomes well-balanced with flavors of peach, citrus and melon. It is quite a spiky, acidic wine with a slightly creamy, long finish. This is a delicious Summer wine, which goes perfectly with the Men of USA. Not so much with the can of Chicken Noodle Soup!
