Anyone who knows me or has read any Shoesday Tuesday posts knows of my frustration with buying shoes.  The darn elusive size five is like going on a treasure hunt and more often than not it leads to frustration and no pot of gold.  That said, my lifelong quest for shoes will never waiver and because of that I am at times presented with a little treasure.

Amble Criss Cross Pumps

Last weekend I was looking for some shoes to go with a long black sequined dress I had bought for my office holiday party.  There was a gorgeous pair of Tory Burch T-Bar High Heeled Sandals with a little bow at the heal I was obsessed with but of course no size fives in store or online.   That didn’t seem to deter the sales assistant who kept bringing over shoes to me that made no sense with what I wanted in style, size or more importantly height – I need high!!!  I am five feet tall and going to a black tie event, why on earth would I wear flats, no-one would see me!

Awesome Funky Heal

Just as I was about to leave the sales assistant showed me one more pair of shoes, which would absolutely not go with a gown type dress but I was intrigued by their funky, chunky heal and criss cross straps at the front.  She seemed so excited they were a size five that I felt compelled to try them on.  The love was immediate and I had to have them.

As I get older I seemed to be gravitating more towards the chunkier heal

They are a fun patent tortoise shell brown and black, very high and have an trendy half circle heal, which give them a little edge.  I am also a bit of a sucker for a bit of a Mary Jane look and these ones had a little more flair.

They look really fun with simple skinny black pants and a white button down shirt so the only focus is the shoes.
