I first visited Sterling Vineyards back in 1999 not long after arriving in the United States.  Since then I have been back to them a few times to visit their gorgeous winery and to enjoy the stunning countryside.  They have the coolest aerial tram, which takes you from the car park over the vineyards to the beautiful house.  You can take your time with touring the whole space at your leisure while enjoying a glass of wine.

Sterling Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc 2012

I realized that I hadn’t enjoyed a Sterling Wine in a while so when my friend came to stay from Houston I picked up a bottle of their Sauvignon Blanc 2012.

This wine is vibrantly clear with just a hint of green when held up to the light.  Startlingly sharp on the nose with immediate aromas of Granny Smith apples.  On the tongue it bursts with effervescent fervor of tangy sour apple and nectarine with just a touch of citrus fruits.  It lingers on the palate for quite some time with a lovely long dry finish.

I was surprised by the not so positive reviews out there on what I think is a delightfully refreshing Sauvignon Blanc. The Sterling Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc is  easy, drinkable and a super fun affordable wine.

A perfect Spring wine, which would pair perfectly with a Seafood Paella.

My rating…

3-Glasses
