“I am a better person when I have less on my plate.”
― Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat, Pray, Love
I realized I had not been to Blue Inc. since 2011. I know this because I write a blog about food and it often serves excellently as a calendar of events and also to sometimes prove me wrong when I state emphatically… “I was there just a few months ago!
We did have an amazingly fun night at Blue Inc a few years ago so I was excited to go back. I love duck dishes and while I really liked their signature duck entree, it didn’t rock my world. I knew I needed to try it again
Before I do talk about it for Fab Dish Friday, I need to rave for one minute about their preztel rolls. They are warm, salty and just fabulous, especially with the butter with mustard seeds. Leave me in a corner and perhaps some jam and I know I would be a happy camper.
So, onto the Signature Honey & Hoisin Glazed Duck Confit. This time I was far more onboard with it, so much so it just has to be this Friday’s Fab Dish. I did remove the mangos as I am not a fan of fruit in savory food but changed nothing else. As in the last time I tried it, it is beautifully presented, delicious sticky sweet hoisin glazed duck that is perfectly cooked and just falls off the bone and not fatty at all. I loved the sticky rice and the flavors overall worked fabulous together.
