Looking for a relaxing, no pressure dining experience with a bit of sassiness, spice and music thrown in?  Well, I may have found just the spot for you.  Savvor Restaurant & Lounge in the Leather District of Boston opened up a few months ago to a quiet positive buzz.  I had heard about it through the bloggersphere but didn’t get to visit and then sadly forgot about it.  Lucky for me, I know people who know people.  Honestly, I do :).  The folks of CBH Communications invited me to celebrate their official opening last week, which I happily accepted.

Savvor main dining and bar area

Along with a couple of friends we ventured over to Lincoln Street to enjoy ridiculously spicy chicken wings, great meats and cheeses and some Caribbean flair.

Cozy window view seating

Executive Chef Carey Dobies of Clio and Upstairs on the Square fame, brings some southern flavors to this restaurant for its patrons to “Savvor” (the French spelling for Savor) and enjoy.

Probably the spiciest jerk chicken in the word – fantastic!

Welcomed by an incredibly friendly manager and owner who likes to be hands on, Eddy Firmin greats his patrons with a genuinely warm smile and relaxed spirit.  We felt very welcome.

Tasty meats and pate

The menu boasts a plethora of snacks to share from Sizzling Oysters, Shrimp & Grits, Roasted Leeks, Fried Green Tomatoes and ‘Wing n’ Thangs’ – jerked seasoned chicken wings.  Lots of spicy goodness instilling what can only be truly Caribbean.   Entrées, which are large enough to serve two present patrons with Tennessee Whole Fried Chicken and Whole Grilled Fish Feast.  They also do a late night menu, which serves a different twist on the menu from Yaka Mein to Hen & Waffles until 1.30am.

Special rum cocktails

As you enter the door off Lincoln Street you walk down a long exposed brick walled corridor, which opens up into a large open space with walls the color of turquoise oceans, monochrome artwork and funky chandeliers.  They have two long bars serving ridiculously fun cocktails like the Pain Killer and Grilled Pineapple Daiquiri, plus lots of spacious booths, small tables and cozy corner seating for a more intimate dining experience.

Great live music

On this particular night we were entertained by the talented band playing Island music softly in the background.  From Wednesday through Sunday they offer live music featuring Jazz and R&B.

Thanks for a great night with BosGuy, Stacey & MaryBeth

Savvor brings a unique flavor and vibe to Boston, which I for one am very excited about.   Now I just need to book dinner for myself and my friends to really get into this fabulous menu.
