A memorable trip to Santa Barbara in 2018 introduced me to Rusack Vineyards, a winery I immediately became a member of.

Rusack is a family-owned winery who created its first wine in 1995 and opened their tasting room in 1997 in the scenic Ballard Canyon. I can’t wait to get back there!

The 2018 Rusack Chardonnay is a true delight. Once opened, you immediately get suggestions of honeysuckle and fresh meadows on the nose. It’s clean with hints of summer and lights up the senses with a taste that is to come. The first taste is fresh and not overly buttery and oaky, which we get with many Californian Chardonnays. Tastes of cantaloupe, pineapple, and nectarine abound. A very exciting Chardonnay for a hopefully mask-free summer with friends!
