“If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold,
it would be a merrier world.”  J.R.R. Tolkien

Last weekend I spent a crazy rain filled weekend with my friend, Stacey in what was supposed to be sunny LA.  Lucky for me the rain may come but it doesn’t spoil any of my fun.  Do you like what I did there? 🙂

For our first night after a ridiculously long journey of 13 hours from Boston that had us do an unexpected fuel stop in Vegas, we decided that dinner that night had to be close to home so we opted for The Bazaar by José Andrés right in our hotel, the SLS in Beverly Hills.

There will be a review to come soon on this super restaurant but for now I want to share a dish absolutely worthy of Fab Dish Friday.  The Jicama Wrapped Guacamole!

???????????????????????????????

Jicama wrapped guacamole
10 Micro cilantro, corn chips

These delights are delicate baskets of the thinnest jicama I have ever seen and filled with creamy smooth guacamole with a hint of spice and the right amount of cilantro.  There is a crunch that we couldn’t work out so we asked our waiter to ask the chef.  She said it was a secret ingredient but she could share it with us as we raved so much about this dish.  The “secret” ingredient is Fritos if you can believe it.   We absolutely loved these and even thought about ordering more.

Both Stacey and I will definitely be trying to make these at home.
