“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.”
― Charles M. Schulz

I have been going to Brasserie JO, for as long as I have lived in Boston, which as of this April will be 20 years!!!  How fast does time fly?  It’s very difficult for me to focus on anything else on their menu as I always go for their outstanding Coq au Vin, which has been celebrated on a previous Fab Dish Friday.  This time I was determined to pick something different.

After a long week of being sick, I was ready for the outdoors.  Well, sort of ready, I crashed around 9.30pm!  I met my friend Erika for a bite to eat at Brasserie Jo prior to us going to see Bad Dates at the Huntington Theater, which was fantastic.  More to come on this play soon.

Our dinner started out with sharing the light and fresh Beet Salad with Goat Cheese followed by the Grilled Lemon Chicken Paillard with Petite Salad Parmesan.  While everything was delicious and somewhat on the healthy side, what was to follow was absolutely delicious but definitely not healthy!

This Fab Dish Friday is all about the Chocolate Mousse, which they serve table side.

Chocolate Mousse at Brasserie Jo

The waiter wheels a trolley over to your table and gets ready to prepare the finale of your dinner.  After warming large spoons he scoops three quennelles (dollops) of velvety chocolate mousse.  Shaved dark and white chocolate is then sprinkled all over the the plate followed by a pouring white sauce, which creates a soup of tasty insanity.  This dish is fab dish awesome!!  Definitely worth a trip to Brasserie Jo just for this and of course a little glass of vino in a tiny French wine glass.  Stop by soon.
