I desperately needed to update my iTunes.  I blame my lack of working out on not having the most up-to-date workout tunes.  That is my excuse and I am sticking to it.  So, what goes well with iTunes downloading and updating my iPod I wondered?  Perusing my very limited choice of wines I stopped at a Chateau Ste. Michelle Sauvignon Blanc 2010.  I have had many everyday wines from this winery and am rarely disappointed.  This wine was perfect for iTunes downloading.

“Wine & Spirits Magazine named Chateau Ste. Michelle as one of its “Wineries of the Year” for the 17th time in its annual Buying Guide, making it the most honored American winery in the magazine’s “Hall of Fame.” Only one other winery (Penfolds) has received more “Wineries of the Year” awards with 21 honors.”

Taking time out from iTunes I noted the color is pale straw with a hint of yellow gold.  On the nose it has a light fresh aroma like newly cut grass.  It’s clean with hints of melon, mild citrus, granny smith apples and fresh herbal notes.  At first taste it is slightly sharp on the tongue with a mild bite and absolutely bursts with tropical fruits on the palate – a delightful surprise.  The finish is beautiful long, crisp and luscious.  If you like a clean, sharp, fresh Sauvignon Blanc you will really like this wine.

I would pair with smoked salmon or oysters.  In fact, I think it would pair fabulously with oysters.  I must try it!
