Last week myself and BosGuy enjoyed a fabulous evening at Row 34 with some fellow bloggers, wine lovers and PR folks.  The occasion was to celebrate the 2012 Bodegas Martín Códax Albariño and to pair it with amazing seafood dishes made by the great folks at Row 34.  The theme of the evening was #Wineof theSea.

A spectacular evening of food and wine awaits

To start our evening we were handed a glass Albariño and served platters of Island Creek Oysters, fresh ceviche and smoked scallops on brioche toast with caviar.

Island Creeks are just amazing this year and continue to thrill my taste buds with how much better they seem to be getting.  The ceviche was chopped with chunks of pineapple and served on crisps and were just freshly delightful.

Cocktail hour over with we were seated at long tables in the private room of Row 34.  Our evening started with Striped Bass Crudo served with a herb salad and crispy shallots.  The striped bass was just fantastic with just the right amount of seasoning.

For our main dish we enjoyed Brown Butter Lobster with corn, basil and tomato.  Already cut up for the lazy man, which is exactly what I need when eating lobster.  I am not one for breaking my lobster, so I very much appreciate them doing this as it made my enjoyment of the sweet chunks of lobster meat evening more enjoyable.

Finally, our evening ended with a deliciously sweet dessert of Lemon Pound Cake with fresh local berries.

While the food was fantastic as it always is with Row 34, I feel that none of these tastings could have been as amazing without the wine of Martin Codax Albariño, which complemented each course perfectly with its crisp brilliance, citrusy lemon tastes and sharp minerality.  This wine is made for food, especially seafood.

Thanks to Martin Codax and Row 34 for a great evening

As always service was impeccable and friendly. Wine glasses were filled without you knowing, which can be a little dangerous.  Dishes are placed and removed from in front of you deftly and expertly, which ultimately lends itself to the perfect dining experience.

Kudos and thank you to Row 34 and Martin Codax wines.
