“Burgundy makes you think of silly things, Bordeaux makes you talk of them and Champagne… makes you do them.” -Brillat-Savarin

A very fun way to improve your knowledge of wine is to play games.  What’s more fun that?  Check out these engaging and knowledge building games to enhance your wine experience . . .

Cork Jester’s Wine Teasers Wine GameHandy, enjoyable and informative, Wine Teasers is a game based on a stack of cards, each bearing one question, three possible answers, and a hint for the desperate. Its creator is Jennifer Rosen, the Cork Jester, who has won a James Beard Award and numerous other gonfalons for her witty and refreshing, snobbery-free wine writing. FYI, although the game is designed for from 2 to 20, solitaire is possible and it makes a good self-teaching device (wineteasers.com).

Winerd Wine Trivia and Blind Tasting Board Game

This Winerd game is the perfect way to turn your passion for wine into laughter with friends. Creator Tamara Leigh Murphy paired fun wine trivia questions with an innovative spin on blind tasting to create a wine trivia board game that is a HUGE hit and has been featured on the Today Show and on the Wine Spectator Gift Guide.

Bouquet – The Wine Game

Questions are divided into six categories; Grapes, Regions, Estate/Producer, Spirits, Fortified Wines and Vocabulary. As you proceed in the game, anything could happen. You may visit a wine auction in New York or be asked to settle a longshoreman’s strike in Europe or be asked to identify a wine by the shape of a bottle. Six Categories, 900 questions and a few surprises along the road is what will be expecting you.
