What I got was a lovely surprise. I know I shouldnât, but I do still judge screw tops… a little. I canât help it. I like the idea of opening a bottle of wine with a corkscrew.
Well, I unscrewed the Macon-Fuisse and poured a small glass to enjoy late night while I was working on a presentation. I am always more productive with a glass of wine in hand during the evenings I think. Especially when I have to work đ.
This wine has what I would call a graceful nose, if you can smell smooth, this is what I also get. On a blind tasting I would immediately think this wine was a Sauvignon Blanc and not a Chardonnay. On going in a little deeper into the glass I get a distinct sharpness and a little mineral citrus â grapefruit I think. With my first taste, I found the wine full bodied with a steely, but smooth finish. It has an abundance of tropical fruit flavors and a sharp clean balance. I would suggest drinking this wine with shell fish or a strong brie or just alone working late. It all works.
This is a very approachable wine, which makes it a very drinkable one! It is also a bit naughty because I seemed to drink more than one glass! It was all the wine’s doing â honest.
My rating…
Alright already… these posts are making me salivate. When do I get to actually taste one of these babies?
