Taste Wine Bar & Kitchen is an urban wine tasting room right in the heart of our little city of Boston. The concept is not unique; however, you see it more in wine country (West Coast) than the East Coast. We need more of this simple concept… great wines to taste, drink, talk about and enjoy in a relaxed, unpretentious environment. Pair your wine with tastings of cheese, meats, salads, soups and even picked eggs. How simple and fabulous is that?
Here’s the best thing about Taste… you don’t need to know anything about wine. Just share with their expert owners, Jen and Chris, who are amazing and the staff what you like or are in the mood for. Do you like red, white, rosé wines? Do you like dry, sweet, fruity, oaky, spicy wines? Do you have absolutely no clue and just want to be surprised? Do you want to do a flight or just a glass or even go for the bottle? It’s all good, just tell them and they will deliver to you what they believe you will like or even (hopefully) love. It’s usually spot on. I am familiar with what I know and love about wine and I still put it in their hands to surprise me and I love it.
I have become a bit of a regular at Taste for an after-work glass of wine. I really love that they welcome me with a smile and a “hello Tracey, welcome back.” I especially enjoy introducing my friends to the wine bar.
A few weeks ago, I introduced my friend, Elaine to Taste. As with most friends, they are surprised this place exists but once they sit and talk to the staff, they get it and cant wait to return to introduce another friend. This rainy Monday night I was all about the unique, rare Spring whites. Once again, I was in Jen’s hands and she did not let me down. She raved about a Domaine Adèle Rouzé Quincy 2017, which surprised me with its citrusy and spicy tones. A truly lovely wine.
Elaine went down the Rosé path and was delighted with a dry, summery Chateau des Sarrins 2017 from Cotes do Provence.
Our food tasting accompaniment was a bowl of briny green olives and a cheese board. Wine and cheese for dinner is just fantastic!
Taste is a great venue for a glass of wine after work, a get together with friends or a private event.
