What is the Junior League
The Junior League of Boston (JL Boston) was established in 1906 by young women interested in educating other young women in how to address and resolve the community problems and needs of the greater Boston Metro area. Throughout the past 100 years, JL Boston has grown in our membership and involvement in the Boston Metro community. We are the second-oldest chapter of the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc., an organization of 293 chapters in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and England. Our community service focus is the health and education of women and children.
Their Mission
The Junior League of Boston is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
JLBoston’s direct community service projects work to develop and establish self-esteem of girls and young women served to keep girls on a positive path forward and prevent mood disorders like depression.
