This is as simple as dessert can be and as addictive as heavenly candy. A recipe I have used many times since I found it on allrecipes.com a while ago. It can be made in less than 30 minutes and I always have to be careful of not eating them as I am making them for fear of having none left for my guests. I think I tried four or five, perhaps six but no more than that. Honest.
To be a little healthier, I used fat free cream cheese, which being lighter in texture does not look as pretty as full fat cream cheese, but absolutely no complaints on taste
Cream Cheese Stuffed Strawberries
Ingredients
1 pint fresh strawberries
8oz fat free cream cheese
1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
2 tablespoons orange flavored liqueur
1 tablespoon dark chocolate, grated
Directions
Cut the tops off of the strawberries and stand upright on the cut side. Make a cut 3/4 of the way down from the tip of the strawberry towards the bottom.
Beat together the cream cheese, sugar, and liqueur until smooth in a mixer or a food processor. Place into a piping bag.
Pipe into each strawberry. This task can be a little messy, especially if you have smaller strawberries. Don’t worry though, as soon as your friends taste them they will forget what they look like. With fuller fat cream cheese the mixture is thicker so therefore can be piped into pretty stars or flowers.
Sprinkle with grated chocolate and refrigerate for up to an hour. They can also be served immediately, but I like them a little colder.
Between myself and three friends we devoured these little treats very quickly. They are always party favorites however I make them.
