Last week I stopped by the InterContintental Boston with my friend, Kerry in order to sample some hopefully award winning new cocktails created by the InterContinental© Boston’s head mixologist, Dragan Gajica.
Our evening was filled with wow cocktails, tasty sushi from Sushi Teq and delights from RumBa’s kitchen.
The InterContinental Boston is one of six hotel finalists up for a prestigious award where the winning cocktails will be featured on the InterContinental® Hotels & Resorts’ new Signature Cocktail menu at all the brand’s Americas properties. Dragan is competing against InterContinental New York Times Square, InterContinental Miami, InterContinental Toronto Centre, President InterContinental Cozumel and Presidente InterContinental Cancun. The winner will be judged on presentation, taste, and social engagement.
Dragan’s two drinks are The Grog and The Boston Tea Party. All participating drinks had to include a Bacardi ingredient. Dragan used Bacardi Select in The Grog and Bacardi Superior in The Boston Tea Party. The Grog is based on a traditional Grog from the early 1700s and The Boston Tea Party is infused with orange cinnamon spice tea that was one of the original spices thrown into Boston Harbor on December 16, 1773.
I can honestly say the Grog was just the right amount of citrusy, not too sweet blend of tastes for my delicate British/American palate and worthy of winning (in my humble opinion). The presentation was also incredible with a little ice cup filled with pomegranate and rosemary, which I poured into my drink to give even more punch!
Not being a fan of cinnamon, my friend Kerry sampled the Grog and thought it was outstanding and the perfect drink for a fall evening in New England.
The InterContinental Boston is inviting guests to come in, order one of the two drinks, post a photo of it using the tags @interconbos and use #ictopshelf in any social media postings and they can receive 50% off any lite bite menu item at RumBa on Wednesday through Sunday (when Dragan is working) October 15th – November 12th.
This is definitely worth a visit.
I haven’t been to the Intercon in a while- those drinks sound right up my alley!
