“A shoe is not only a design, but it’s a part of your body language, the way you walk. The way you’re going to move is quite dictated by your shoes.” Christian Louboutin
There are some philosophies I live by. Some of them have not been visited in a long time. One of these is that when a guy you quite like doesn’t like you back, you immediately go and buy something special for yourself. For me it’s shoes.
The last time I entertained liking a young man I didn’t have the money to go big, I am not sure I do now but shoes are shoes. They don’t judge a hurt heart or ego, a weight gain or a need to wear them at inappropriate times like at night with a glass of wine, in you PJs with the good old classic Bridget Jones on.
There are few honest moments from your friend at Life Food Wine these days, especially the life part… I now have a habit of keeping that one to myself. The food and wine quotient is all covered, you get the goods. So hear it is…. whether in your teens or in your 40s not being liked by a boy or indeed a man in return definitely sucks the same. It’s just ugh. Honest moment done.
Okay. So to the shoes. My friends, who I am very lucky to have seemed to have a sixth sense when it comes to each other’s pain, frustrations and anxieties and this is truly why women rock. We are there for each other. My friend, Jaimee called me early last Sunday to see if I wanted to meet up. It seems she also needed a break but for a different reason. We met at noon and after a day of brunch, wine, shopping, wine, dinner and wine we went home at 10pm with two slightly depleted credits cards. Mine happened at Saks with a breathtaking (both in beauty and cost) pair of Christian Louboutins.
I mean, they are just beautiful. They make me swoon and smile and walk around my condo like Imelda Marcos with nowhere to go.
The elegant design with the hint of toe cleavage and sneak of red sliding up the sides of the heel is masterful. I look down to my feet and I am happy.
The price for these shoes is not for the faint of heart; however, they do well for the hurting of heart.
