After 20 years in the Seaport area of Boston, the iconic Barking Crab is still going strong, in fact some, including myself would say its better than ever. They have a new chef, Joshua Brown who has brought his expertise in creating a new menu of simple, local and fresh ingredients, which will delight locals and tourists equally.
I recently booked the Barking Crab for a celebration lunch for our Boston staff. I could not have asked for better upfront service to get the menu ready and also received some wonderful ideas shared by the manager of what we could do a little differently. We spent two wonderful exclusive lunch hours in the restaurant enjoying their amazing made from scratch creamy clam chowder, juicy lobster rolls, boiled whole lobster and classic fish and chips followed by delicious key lime pie. We all had a great time and struggled to walk the short distance back to our office for an afternoon of work.
Just last week I was invited to celebrate their 20th Year Anniversary, which I immediately accepted.
Joined by my friend Karen we walked into the very casual, welcoming deck, which sits right on the calm water with the sun streaming in. They had happy sun flowers on every table, a cool Island band playing in the corner and an unbelievable tasting selection of foods. We enjoyed delights of fresh gazpacho, cod crab cakes, ceviche, juicy jumbo shrimp, fresh shucked oysters and clams and crab mousse to name a few.
The Barking Crab is just simple, fresh, casual, summer fun dining. You should definitely check it out.
