Grease – 40 years old and still a great movie

It may seem odd I am writing a review of movie, which was made 40 years ago!!!  Seriously, Grease was made in 1978.  Most of my co-workers and quite a few of my good friends were not even born.  So, why am I reliving this iconic movie musical.  Well, it’s simple. Today, the movie still stands the test of time.  On Friday night, I stayed in made dinner, opened a bottle of fabulous wine, Locations E Spanish Red Wine (thank you Lauren) and perused the movie channels for something easy to shut my mind down to.  I kept seeing...

Hello, My Name is Doris

Every now and then a movie comes along that I cannot help but encourage every single one of my friends to watch just so that we can talk about it.  Hello, My Name is Doris one such movie! Eagle Harbor Goldfinch, Columbia valley Washington 2015

A weekend trip to Seattle resulted in a fabulous find following a fun wine tasting on the quaint Bainbridge Island.  The little tiny tasting room for Eagle Harbor Wine Company surprised and delighted me.  Not only because we were the only ones there and enjoyed the company of the tasting room associate, I totally enjoyed every one of the wines we tasted so of course I purchased six bottles. Absolutely Fabulous The Movie

If you go to see a movie expecting nothing at all, then hopefully what you get is something more and I must say I did get a little more than I expected with this ridiculously silly, filled with giggles movie, which continues the antics of the now iconic characters from the 1990s TV show, Absolutely Fabulous. Our evening started with a reception hosted by Ruth’s Chris featuring Bollinger Champagne – what else, some bites and a bit of swag.  A couple of glasses of champagne, a few photo snaps of us in the ludicrous gold baseball hats, which I...

Trainwreck – Directed by Judd Apatow

Mention the name Amy Schumer a few months ago and there are few that would have recognized it.  Mention it now and everyone knows who she is given that she is the “It” girl of the romantic comedy world, whose presence is sought after by every talk show host across the globe from Ellen to Graham Norton. I am a big fan of Director, Judd Apatow so I always take note when he brings out a new movie.  His tends to take on the more edgy, inappropriate RomCom movies that are not usually all sweetness and light.  Think The...
